Welcome back!
10/20/2025
In Week 1, we focused on the why behind parent engagement-because when schools and families unite, students thrive.
This week, we’re shifting from why to how.
We’ll explore one of the most important principles from The Missing Link: Rebuilding the Bridge Between Home and School.
It’s time to turn communication into connection-and connection into collaboration.
Key Concept: The 3 C’s of Connection
When parents and educators align around the same purpose, amazing things happen. Use these 3 C’s to strengthen that connection this week:
- Consistency – Keep families informed on a regular schedule, not just when there’s a problem.
- Clarity – Simplify messages. Avoid education jargon. Make every message easy to understand.
- Care – Every communication should leave parents feeling valued, not blamed or left out.
Action Step of the Week: “The 2-Minute Check-in”
Before the week ends, take two minutes to reach out to a parent or teacher with one of these quick messages:
• “I just wanted to share something positive your child did today.”
• “How can I support your child’s learning this week?”
• “What’s one thing that’s going well at home?”
It’s short, powerful, and it rebuilds trust – one conversation at a time.
Schools often overcomplicate engagement. The truth is simple: parents don’t need more information – they need more invitation.
Start with small, consistent touchpoints. That’s where transformation begins.
“Laying the Foundation for the 10-Week Challenge”
Next week, we’ll introduce the framework of the upcoming
10-Week Parent Engagement Challenge – a step by step journey where schools and families move from involvement to empowerment.
